Section 144 enforced in Islamabad ahead of Muharram

Islamabad: Section 144 was imposed in the federal capital in view of Muharram.

According to ICT spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Tabasim, various activities have been banned in respect of Muharram.

According to the spokesperson, under Section 144, there will be a ban on open fireworks, use of loudspeakers and display of weapons. Fireworks and distribution of religious pamphlets etc. or spreading communal disturbances and all kinds of wall chalking, stone crushing have also been banned.

All kinds of gatherings and processions will be banned in Islamabad, except those which will be allowed by the district administration. Notification of sanctions under Section 144 has been issued which will be applicable for two months from today.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has issued instructions to law enforcement agencies to fully implement Section 144 and take strict action against violators.
