Karachi: A big dealer of Gatka Mawa was killed and his friend was injured due to firing by motorcycle riding accused in Azam Basti area of Mehmoodabad.
The victim was sent an extortion slip by the Lyari gang war and a photo of a hand grenade from the jail in case of non-payment of extortion through WhatsApp and threatened with dire consequences. The victim was married two years ago.

According to the Karachi Police spokesperson, the victim was identified as 30-year-old Salman son of Akram Malik, while the injured person was identified as 31-year-old Kamran. Mawa was a major dealer
Gutka Mawa prepared by Salman is sold in most areas of the city including Mahmudabad, Chinesar Goth, Baloch Colony, Karachi Administration Society, PIB Colony.
There is a Gutka Mawa cabin of the deceased also in front of PIB Colony Noor Hotel.
Sources said that a few days ago, SP Liaquatabad, the head of the task force formed by IG Sindh, along with the police party, raided Salman’s Gutke Mawe factory, but the police party was pushed by threatening important political figures. And after talking to them on the phone, they were driven away.
Sources said that Salman has an important role in the appointment of SHO Mehmoodabad for a long time. At the time of the incident, Salman came from somewhere in his car along with his friend Kamran and was ambushed as soon as he got out of the car near his house. One of the two motorcycle-riding accused got down and opened fire. As soon as Salman fell down, the accused fired indiscriminately on his head, while the other motorcycle-riding accused shot and injured Kamran, the driver of the car.
After the confirmation of Salman’s death, the accused managed to escape from the spot, the CCTV footage of the incident was first obtained by Express News and aired on the channel.
According to police sources, the slain Salman had received a ransom note from the main accused of the Lyari gang war, while he had received a message from the jail of serious consequences for not paying it even through WhatsApp, in which a picture of a grenade was also sent. .
