Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council has issued an arrest warrant for a person involved in the heinous crime of burning pages of the Holy Quran in Sweden last week.
In a memorandum issued by the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq, the Ministry of Interior has been asked to immediately inform the Arab and International Police Directorate about the arrest warrant for the accused Silwan Sabah Mati Momika.
According to the memorandum, the accused is wanted by the Iraqi judiciary under the provisions of Article (1)/372 of the Iraqi Penal Code.
The memorandum states that the authorities should inform the Iraqi judiciary in case of arrest of the suspect so that action can be initiated against him.
On the other hand, the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed al-Shaf, said that the person who insulted the Holy Quran is an Iraqi, so we demand the Swedish authorities to hand him over to the Iraqi government so that he can be prosecuted according to Iraqi law. .
