Washington: 3 people were killed and 6 injured in a shooting at an Independence Day celebration in the US state of North Louisiana.

According to the American media, this year, like every year, independence was being celebrated at the scene when suddenly an armed person opened fire indiscriminately. 2 people died on the spot while one died during treatment in the hospital.

The firing triggered a stampede and several people were rescued in the parking lot with injuries, out of which 6 people had to be admitted to the hospital. The assailant escaped and was arrested by the police after a chase.

According to the police, weapons were also recovered from the arrested accused. The motive of the incident has not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing.

It should be remembered that the number of people killed in shootings during the Independence Day holiday in the United States has increased to 12, while the number of injured is 48.

A total of 7 people were killed and more than 10 injured in two separate shooting incidents in Texas and Philadelphia yesterday, while two people were killed and 28 injured in a shooting in Baltimore.

President Joe Biden expressed regret over the loss of precious lives in shooting incidents during the American Independence Day holiday, saying that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and punished.
