Karachi: Provincial Energy Minister Amitaz Shaikh has said that Sindh government should be consulted before entering into a new contract with K Electric.
Expressing his indignation over the ongoing load shedding in Karachi, Imtiaz Sheikh said that the authority of electricity transmission companies lies with Nepra and Power Division. . He said that the people are suffering due to the lack of representation of the province in the K Electric Board.

Imtiaz Shaikh said that load shedding is determined by NTDC, whose head office is in Lahore. He further said that there are a few weeks left before the contract of K Electric expires, Sindh government must be consulted before entering into a new contract because the provincial government is the biggest stakeholder.
