Despite the court order, IG Islamabad Nasir Akbar apologized to the Islamabad High Court in the contempt of court case over the arrest of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shireen Mazari.

IG Islamabad submitted the reply in Islamabad High Court.
In his reply, IG Islamabad said that he was ashamed and apologized for the impression created by violating the court order.
He said that to avoid such a situation in the future, he has issued an office order and ordered the police officers to ensure full implementation of the court orders.
IG Islamabad Nasir Akbar said that Sub-Inspector Haider Ali, Constables Sohail, Faisal and Waqas were involved in the arrest, Lady Constable Sundus and Marvi were also involved in the arrest of Shireen Mazari.
He says that the police did not know about the court order before the arrest, disciplinary action has been started by showing the relevant police officials.
In response, IG Islamabad also said that the officers of Kohsar police station went outside Shireen Mazari’s house with the Rawalpindi police, Advocate Iman Mazari had not informed the police about the court order to stop the arrest.
