A 1000 MW renewable energy agreement was signed between K Electric and a Chinese company.
A signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding between K Electric and the Chinese company was held in Islamabad.
According to the declaration, K Electric and the Chinese company will work on 1000 MW projects.
Under the MoU, energy projects will be set up in Azad Kashmir and other areas.
A strategy to deploy battery energy storage systems on large grids will be created in KElectric’s network.
CEO KElectric said that the MoU is a milestone for the consumers of Karachi.
He said that the country is determined to increase the share of clean, sustainable and affordable energy in the generation mix.
He said that the Chinese company’s global experience will help in renewable energy efforts.
The Chinese company’s CEO, Wang Minsheng, said the new plan is to provide low-cost, clean energy solutions.
He said that green energy is helpful in dealing with the problem of climate change.
He added that increasing renewable energy sources in the country’s energy mix is the need of the hour.
