Lahore: A rare breed of bear taken into custody from Muzaffargarh was taken away from the wildlife staff.

According to the details, the staff of Punjab Wildlife is looking helpless in front of the group who are staging the spectacle of fighting and sports of rare breeds of bears and dogs.

The wildlife staff had taken custody of a bear from Muzaffargarh yesterday which was to be shifted to Bahawalpur Zoo on court order, but the Qalandars, who were watching the bear play, snatched the bear away from the wildlife staff and escaped.
In this regard, Deputy Director DG Khan Irfan Farooqui told Express News that another case is being filed against the accused, while help has been sought from DPO and other administrative agencies for the arrest of the accused and the return of the bear.
Irfan Farooqi said that rescuing and delivering the bears in these areas is a difficult task because the women of Qalandar and nomads who rear these bears and make them play shows are strongly opposed.
On the other hand, Fahad Malik, who works for the protection and awareness of wild life, said that it is very sad that a bear was handed over with so much effort and struggle and the accused escaped after snatching it.
Fahad Malik said that the major omission here is that when the bear was rescued from Qalandar, it was immediately caught with the help of a net and placed in a large cage and the cage was locked and kept somewhere safe. It would have been hidden in place, but the cage was not used here.

Fahad Malik said that the bear was taken to the court while sitting in the open in the car, where men and women from the family of the accused gathered in large numbers and brought petrol with them, and also threatened the officials of the wildlife department and the department. An attempt was also made to set the new expensive car on fire by sprinkling petrol on it.

According to Fahad Malik, the number of volunteers was also low, and the bear was returned due to an attempt to set the vehicle on fire. There are also reports that the Qalandar people and their women do not shy away from playing the woman card in battle.
It should be noted that on the instructions of Deputy Director Wildlife DG Khan Irfan Farooqui, Assistant Director Muzaffargarh Abdul Razzaq took custody of a black bear from Tehsil Jatoi area and produced three accused in the court.

The court had ordered the bear to be shifted to Bahawalpur Zoo, but on returning from the court, the accomplices of the accused snatched the bear from the wildlife team and escaped.
