The accused involved in the murder of Pakistan Navy employee’s widow and 2-year-old son was arrested, while the accused’s younger accomplice escaped.
Last month, the widow of a Pakistan Navy employee was killed by unknown assailants by slitting her throat and drowning her 2-year-old son in a water tank in Goshth Street, Quaidabad area of Karachi.
Asghar Shaikh, investigating officer of Shah Latif Police, conducted a raid in Quaidabad on a tip-off and arrested the accused Abdul Hafeez, while the young associate of the accused, Rafi, escaped.
The killer, Abdul Hafeez, along with his accomplice Rafi, has confessed to killing the woman and her 2-year-old son.
According to Asghar Sheikh, investigating officer of Shah Latif Police, Abdul Hafeez was arrested with the help of the victim’s mobile phone.
The accused Rafi was tempted by seeing money in the house of the deceased, the accused came to the house on the pretext and then called the arrested accused as well.
The two accused killed the woman with a sharp instrument and drowned the child in a water tank.
After the incident, the accused took cash, gold and mobile phone of the deceased from the house. Raids are being conducted in search of the young accused Rafi, both the accused are also addicted to drugs.
