Cyclone Bipar Joy in the Arabian Sea continues to intensify, Karachi, Hyderabad are likely to experience heavy rains with gale between June 13 and 16, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tandwala Yar and Mirpurkhas are also likely to receive rain.
The cyclone is 690 km off the coast of Karachi, the sea winds will cross the coast of Thatta and the Indian state of Gujarat on June 15.
During a storm, waves in and around Katy Monkey can reach 8 to 12 feet.
The Meteorological Department has instructed the fishermen not to venture into the open sea till the storm is over.
A state of emergency has been imposed in hospitals in Thatta and Badin, while people from different areas of Tharparkar have been directed to move to safer places.
High alert has also been issued in Sajawal district, Section 144 has been imposed on Gwadar coast.
