"Budget is the best, words are the best" businessmen and investors use

Karachi / Rawalpindi / Lahore: Businessmen and investors have expressed mixed reactions to the budget.

The federal budget was appreciated by the president of Lahore Chamber of Commerce Kashif Anwar, however, Peshawar Chamber of Commerce expressed its dissatisfaction with it and termed it as mere gibberish.

While holding a press conference along with officials of Lahore Chamber of Commerce, Kashif Anwar said that the government has announced many incentives to encourage non-filers to become filers and to develop the agriculture sector.

He said that in the latest budget most attention has been given to the IT sector, the tax rate on freelancers has been reduced. Export companies in the IT sector have been given exemptions for importing computers etc.

The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Businessmen’s Group termed the announced federal budget as better than the current situation and accused it of neglecting the export industries.

Zubair Motiwala, chairman of the businessman group, said that the budget is not terrible, but the heart is not satisfied either, 50% of the proposals of the Karachi Chamber have been made a part of the budget. The establishment of the Export Development Council in the budget is welcome, on solar energy. Tax exemptions are welcome, whaling policy on the energy sector has been ignored, giving major relief to agriculture sectors was a national need which was met.

President Karachi Chamber Tariq Yusuf said that the budget focused on agro-based economy which is the need of the hour. Haroon Farooqi, Vice Chairman of BMG, said that detailed details were not given in the budget speech. Rawalpindi Chamber welcomed the National Budget.

President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce Saqib Rafiq Wadigar said that a big demand of tier one has been eliminated which is a big deal.
