Sindh's overall budget for 2023-24 is proposed to be 2244 billion rupees

The overall budget of Sindh for the financial year 2023-24 is proposed to be Rs.2244 billion.

According to sources, a 15-20 percent increase in the salaries of government employees is expected in the budget of Sindh, while an increase in the minimum wage of labor has also been proposed.

According to the sources, the development budget of the province is proposed to be kept at 410 billion rupees, while in the federal PSDP, more than 12 billion rupees have been estimated for Sindh.

Sources say that the budget estimate for foreign-funded projects is 266 billion, while it is proposed to keep 160 billion rupees for law and order.

The development budget of Sindh Local Government Department is 62 billion while it is proposed to allocate more than 353 billion for education department and more than 380 billion for new and ongoing development schemes.

According to the sources, it is proposed to allocate 88 billion rupees for 7193 new schemes and 291 billion rupees for 3311 ongoing schemes in the next financial year.

Sources say that 1772 schemes will be completed in the current financial year in Sindh, more than 12 billion 52 crore rupees have been proposed for the ongoing mega projects of Karachi.

30 billion rupees have been allocated for the district development budget and more than 100 billion rupees for Karachi’s foreign aid projects.

According to sources, schemes for upgradation of civil, district and taluka headquarters hospitals are included in the new budget.

The new budget in Sindh also includes a proposal to increase the grant of local councils.

Sources say that it is proposed to allocate 1 trillion 65 billion rupees for the development projects of school education, 65 billion 80 crore rupees for the development budget of college education and 67 billion 10 crore rupees for the development projects of university boards.

Sources related to this budget say that the plan to establish 50 English medium schools in the districts of Sindh is also included, for which it is proposed to keep 1 billion 51 crore rupees.
