3 Israeli soldiers were killed by firing on the border between Israel and Egypt.
According to foreign media, preliminary investigations have indicated that a male and a female officer were found dead at their check post at 6 am.
After the bodies were recovered, military forces arrived there and an operation was conducted to search for the attacker, who is said to have crossed the border into Israel sometime during the night.
The Israeli army claims that the terrorist belongs to the Egyptian police.
The Israeli military said it and the Egyptian military are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
The Egyptian army said in a statement that our police officer was chasing drug smugglers, opened fire on the suspects but as a result three Israeli soldiers were killed.
