Egypt has invited Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders to Cairo to ease tensions with Israel.
Secretary General of the Palestinian Organization of Islamic Jihad Ziad al-Nakhlah met with the head of Egypt’s intelligence agency in Cairo.
The leader of Islamic Jihad discussed the latest situation in Jerusalem, the West Bank and especially in Jenin.
In the meeting, bilateral relations and Egypt’s efforts to reduce the problems of the Palestinian people were discussed.
The two leaders agreed on permanent contacts for discussion and consultation on the situation in Palestine, the West Bank and Jerusalem.
On the other hand, Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas in Qatar, will also visit Cairo this week.
During this time, he will meet with the head of the Egyptian intelligence agency and other security officials.
The meeting will discuss reducing tensions and restoring peace in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem before Ramadan.
It should be remembered that Abbas Kamil, the head of Egypt’s secret agency ‘General Intelligence Directorate’, met with the Palestinian president and senior officials in Ramallah last week.
Ahmed Husni, director of the Jordanian intelligence agency, was also present in this meeting.
