Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was produced in the Gujranwala court on charges of corruption of more than 2 billion rupees.
Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has been produced in the court of Duty Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Afzal.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s lawyers are also present in the court.
The investigating officer said that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has been arrested in two cases, physical remand is required for investigation of the cases and recovery of bribe money.
The investigation team requested that the accused Pervez Elahi be given physical remand for 14 days.
It should be noted that 2 cases have been registered against PTI President Pervez Elahi in Gujranwala police station anti-corruption, both the FIRs are allegations of kickbacks in road construction contracts in Gujarat.
In the case number 6/23, it is alleged that a road was constructed from Pul Banyan to Chattanwala at a cost of Rs.
In Case No. 7/23, it is alleged that a road was constructed from Gujarat Old GT Road to Lakhanwal at a cost of ten billion rupees.
According to the lawsuit, bribes in both contracts were received by Pervaiz Elahi’s frontman Sohail Asghar.
