FBR again failed to meet the target of tax collections

The Federal Board of Revenue has once again failed to meet the tax collection target during the first 11 months of the fiscal year.

Due to this failure, there is a shortfall of Rs 440 billion in tax collections from July to May.

The target of tax collection from July to May was 6 thousand 640 billion rupees, but only 6 thousand 200 billion rupees could be collected in this period.

According to the report, FBR faced a shortfall of Rs 440 billion in tax collections.

FBR sources have told ‘Jeo News’ that the target of tax collection in the month of May was Rs 621 billion, while FBR has been able to collect Rs 567 billion in the month of May.

Thus, in the month of May, there was a decrease of 54 billion rupees in tax collections.

Till June 30 this year, FBR has to collect 7 thousand 604 billion rupees in tax.

To meet this target, FBR will have to collect Rs 964 billion in the month of June.

According to the data released by the FBR, the Federal Board of Revenue collected a net revenue of Rs 572 billion during May.

205 billion rupees were collected in terms of domestic income tax, which is 57% more than in May 2023.
