Punishment was announced for Chand’s false testimony.
Apart from the official Sighting of the Crescent Committee, private committees were banned from sighting the moon.
Giving false testimony to Chand will be punishable with 3 years imprisonment or 50,000 fine or both.
Moon sighting will not be reported on electronic media before the official announcement.
The details of the Pakistan Royat Hilal Bill 2022 approved by the National Assembly have come out.
Violators of the bill will be fined Rs 5 lakh.
The bill will come into effect immediately after the signature of the President.
