Washington: US police intelligence chief indicted for allegedly leaking secret police information to homosexuals.
According to foreign media, a federal grand jury has indicted Lt. Shane Lemond, head of the police intelligence unit in Washington, on charges of providing classified information to homosexuals and making three false statements.
Shane Lemond was arrested Friday on a charge of obstruction of justice that carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
Shane Lemond, who served on the force for 24 years, was placed on leave in February 2022 due to a Justice Department investigation, according to the U.S. Police Department.
Lt. Shane Lemond is accused in an indictment released Friday by the U.S. Department of Justice of allegedly forewarning gay leader Enrique Terrio of a warrant for his arrest and law enforcement. Also convey other confidential information of the conducting bodies.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the information was related to an investigation into the burning of a “Black Lives Matter” banner stolen from a church in the U.S. capital in 2020.
