Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to send a reference against the judge for facilitating terrorists.

A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, in which the progress regarding the legal proceedings against the miscreants involved in the May 9 incidents was reviewed.

In the meeting, cash rewards were approved for identifying the real suspects involved in the terrorist incidents, while concern was also expressed over the illegal facilitation of the named suspects in the attack on the ISI office. In the meeting, it was decided to send an official reference against a judge for providing extraordinary facilitation to terrorists.

It has been decided in the meeting chaired by the Caretaker Chief Minister that the decision of illegal and unconstitutional facilitation of the named accused will also be challenged. Facilitation of named accused is tantamount to murder of justice. It was decided in the meeting that the negotiation team headed by Commissioner Lahore Division will go to Zaman Park today.

Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi ordered a thorough follow-up of the cases registered against the miscreants and directed the concerned commissioners and RPOs to hold daily meetings to review the process of prosecution. He said that the arrest of the fugitive criminals should be ensured as soon as possible. Attacks on army installations and public assets do not deserve any exemption.

The Caretaker Chief Minister said that May 9 is a dark chapter in the history of Pakistan, when terrorism was carried out under a nefarious plan. A briefing was given in the meeting that through geo-fencing, human intelligence, social media and NADRA, the identification and arrest of the accused is being ensured.
