The Sindh Education Department has banned the teaching of objectionable subjects published in Cambridge books in schools.
Additional Director of Private Schools Rafia Mallah says that Olivell’s Sociology book has an article on homosexuality, while the article on History and Culture of Pakistan in the Study of Pakistan book is against history.
He said that this type of articles are not related to the culture of Pakistan, so they have decided to ban this content.
It should be noted that the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training had sent a letter to the education departments of the provinces in which attention was drawn to inappropriate content in the O-level syllabus.
In the said post, it was pointed out that a review of the subtitle ‘Samsex Family’ under the chapter ‘The Family’ of the O-Level Sociology textbook revealed highly controversial material.
