Peshawar: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, crackdown on PTI workers participating in violent protests against the arrest of Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is ongoing.
Local officials and local representatives of PTI were arrested. The former members of the assembly went into hiding.
A list of 296 protesters who participated in the violent protests against the arrest of Imran Khan in Peshawar has been released.
Police raids are underway to arrest former MLAs, local officials and local government representatives.
According to the media cell of Tehreek-e-Insaf, the police raided the houses of PTI local officials and municipal leaders late at night and arrested several workers.
Among those arrested are former district member and current chairman Neighborhood Kamboh Malik Aman, youth councilor Saeed, PTI local chairman Attaullah, former MPA Arif Yusuf.
The houses of ex-MNA Haji Shaukat, Arbab Sher Ali, ex-MPA Ayesha Bano, Asif Khan, Malik Wajid, Kamran Bangash were also raided but no one was arrested. All the assembly members have gone into hiding.
According to police sources, PTI workers and officials are being arrested under 3 MPO.
A case has been registered against 30 leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf, including Arif Yusuf, Kamran Bangash, Taimur Jhagra, under anti-terrorism provisions.
