EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell says that if India buys cheap oil from Russia and supplies it to Europe after refining it, it could be banned.
He has expressed these views while giving an interview to a news agency, a day before the first ‘EU-India New Trade Council’ meeting to be held in the European capital Brussels today.
He warned that if diesel or petrol made from Russian oil is entering Europe and it is coming from India, it is definitely a violation of the sanctions and member states will have to take measures against it and the issue. But will also talk to Jaishankar.
It may be recalled that the European Commission chiefs will meet the senior ministers of India today for their first Trade and Technology Council.
