Karachi: The hottest day of this year was recorded in the city of Quaid on Thursday, the temperature exceeded 40 degrees Celsius, there were light showers throughout the day, due to the low humidity in the air, a heat wave-like situation did not occur.
According to the Department of Meteorology, there was severe heat and humidity in the city on Thursday due to the cessation of sea breezes, during the day there were cold spells, the hot and humid western winds of Balochistan were affecting the city for most of the afternoon, due to which the average for the month of May was also observed on the second day. The temperature (38.8 degrees) was recorded.
According to the Department of Meteorology, the maximum temperature on Thursday was 40.3 degrees, while the humidity in the air was 17 percent. The summer mercury was recorded at 47 degrees Celsius.
According to the forecast of the Early Warning Center of the Meteorological Department, hot weather may be recorded in the city today, Friday and Saturday, during which the mercury may rise to 38 degrees. The weather is expected to remain hot and dry in most areas of the province. The mercury may exceed 44 degrees in central and upper Sindh during the day.
