Pakistan's decision to approach World Health Organization for monkeypox vaccine

Islamabad: The federal government has decided to approach the World Health Organization for procuring monkeypox vaccine.

A special meeting of NCOC was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Health to deal with the outbreak, in which the planning and operations regarding Corona and Monkey Pox were reviewed.

All provincial health secretaries participated in the meeting. A briefing was given regarding cases of monkeypox in the provinces.

A discussion was held in the meeting regarding vaccination of monkey pox. It was informed in the briefing that there is currently no vaccine available in Pakistan to deal with monkeypox.
