A new security agreement was reached between the US and South Korea called the “Washington Declaration”.
According to foreign media reports, the agreement between the two countries was announced after the meeting between US President Joe Biden and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yul.
Under the new agreement, the US will send a submarine equipped with nuclear ballistic technology to South Korea, a nuclear submarine will be sent to the region after 40 years.
According to reports, under the agreement, security cooperation between South Korea and the United States will be increased, while there will also be cooperation in bilateral military exercises and strategic assets.
Apart from this, under the agreement, a bilateral “Nuclear Consultative Group” will also be formed and it was also decided that the US will provide all assistance, including weapons, to South Korea in case of an attack by North Korea.
It should be noted that the President of South Korea is on a visit to America this week.
In a joint press conference with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yol in Washington, President Biden said that a North Korean nuclear attack on the United States, its allies or partners would be unacceptable.
The US president has warned that if North Korean leader Kim Jong-un launches a nuclear attack, his own government will end.
