Pakistan set New Zealand a target of 194 runs to win in the final match of the T20 series.
In this match being played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, New Zealand won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first, but failed to get the opening pair of Babar and Rizwan out early.
Both scored 51 runs for the first wicket where Babar Azam, who scored 19 runs, got out.
After Babar’s dismissal, first Mohammad Haris and then Saeem Ayub got out, both of them did not make any score.
In such a situation, Iftikhar Ahmed supported Mohammad Rizwan, a partnership of 71 runs between the two led the team towards a big total.
Iftikhar Ahmed was dismissed after playing a responsible innings of 36 runs. After which Rizwan was joined by Imad Wasim and the duo formed a lightning partnership of 68 runs which played a key role in taking the score to 193.
Imad Wasim played an innings of 31 runs off 14 balls and was run out by taking a single run in the last over.
Mohammad Rizwan got a chance to make his century on the last ball which he wasted, Rizwan remained not out with 98 runs.
For New Zealand, Blair Tickner was outstanding with three wickets while Ash Sodhi dismissed one player.
Talking about the toss in this match being played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, the captain of the national team Babar Azam said that he will try to give a target of 190 runs.
He said that two changes have been made in the team where Ehsanullah and Mohammad Haris have been included in the team in place of Zaman Khan and Fakhar Zaman.
Tom Latham, the captain of the visiting team, said that it will be easy to get the target on this pitch, we were back in the series, the last match was rained out.
He said that two changes have been made in his team where Cole McConchie and Matt Henry have been dropped and Jimmy Nesham and Blair Tickner have been added.
