In Sudan, a situation of civil war has arisen as a result of the bombings and the use of heavy weapons in the fighting between the army and paramilitary forces for several days.
The warring groups have attacked each other despite a ceasefire agreement on Eid, leaving streets in chaos and people confined to their homes.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of people killed during the fighting has exceeded 400. So far, 413 people have been killed and 3,551 injured.
The United Nations says that at least 9 children have been killed and 50 injured in the fighting.
The United Nations refugee agency UNHCR’s World Food Program has said that 20,000 people have taken refuge in the border areas of neighboring Chad.
70% of Khartoum’s hospitals are non-functional, making it difficult to treat the injured, and deaths continue to increase due to lack of medical facilities.
The armed groups had agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire on all three days of Eid.
