Riots in Sudan, instructions to Pakistanis not to leave their homes

Islamabad: The Foreign Office has said that it is in touch with Pakistanis in Sudan and has instructed them not to leave their homes.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that there are more than 1500 Pakistanis in Sudan at the moment, who are completely safe. The Pakistani community has been instructed not to step out of their homes.

According to the Foreign Office, the official of the embassy in Khartoor is in contact with the Pakistanis through WhatsApp and is giving them instructions while informing them about the current situation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that there are difficulties in the evacuation of Pakistanis from Sudan, the roads leading to the airports are not safe, they are in contact with friendly countries and the United Nations on the issue of safety and security of Pakistanis and early evacuation.

He said that Pakistan is confident that the Sudanese authorities will take all measures to ensure the safety and security of Pakistanis.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of the Prime Minister, the Foreign Secretary met the Ambassador of Sudan in Pakistan. Additionally, the Foreign Secretary also held an online meeting with the Pakistani Embassy in Sudan and discussed the situation.
