Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the background of what is going on in the Supreme Court should be looked at.
During the speech in the National Assembly session, Khawaja Asif said that we want the strength of the judiciary, if the judiciary is strong, it will be easy to provide justice to the people.
He said that the Parliament is the mother of democracy, the background of what is going on in the Supreme Court should be seen.
Khawaja Asif further said that today Parliament’s role in politics is less and the Supreme Court is playing a political role.
He said that we will not allow anyone to interfere in the boundaries of the Parliament, the boundaries set by the institutions within the constitution should be respected.
The Defense Minister also said that the words spoken by the Army Chief some time ago about the supremacy of the Parliament are welcome.
Army chief’s words are very important for constitution and parliament, institutions are run by individuals.
