The 28-year-old suspect Sherin Kerona Kern, who tried to run over a worshiper with a car in the premises of a mosque in the Canadian city of Markham, was arrested in Toronto.
The accused has been charged with hate crime by the police.
The federal and provincial governments of Canada have strongly condemned the incident.
