Pakistan People’s Party leader Sherry Rehman while reacting to President Arif Alvi’s sending the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill 2023 back to the Parliament for revision said that President Arif Alvi should not teach Parliament to make legislation.

In a series of tweets issued on the social networking website Twitter, Sherry Rehman said that the President has proved that he is not the President but the Secretary General of PTI by sending the bill back for revision.

Sherry Rehman said that President Arif Alvi has seen every decision of the Parliament from the perspective of Tehreek-e-Insaaf, he had given his opinion on it in an interview even before receiving the bill.

He said that President Arif Alvi is following his party policy, not the constitutional position of the President, he is saying that this bill is beyond the authority of the Parliament?

The leader of the People’s Party says that President Arif Alvi ran the President House like an ordinance factory for 3 and a half years, how can he be aware of the powers of the Parliament.

It should be noted that the President of Pakistan sent the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill 2023 back to the Parliament for revision under Article 75 of the Constitution.

The president says that in hindsight this bill is beyond the power of parliament, the bill can be challenged in court if it is legally artificial, insufficient.
