Islamabad: The Ministry of Home Affairs dismissed the news regarding the increase in passport fees as baseless.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said that there has been no increase in the passport fees, the news circulating on social media regarding the increase in machine readable passport fees is baseless.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior said that there has been no increase in the fees of machine readable passports, the federal government has approved the issuance of e-passports for Pakistani citizens.
He said that the e-passport facility has not been implemented at present.
