Cape Canaveral: 50 years after the human occupation of the moon, efforts to set foot there again are underway and in this context, the first team of four astronauts, including one black and one female, has been announced under the Artemis mission.
Reid Wiseman, Jeremy Henson, woman Christina Koch and black Victor Glover will orbit the moon in a space capsule next year or early 2025. Although they will not set foot on the moon, they will definitely pave the way to land there.
But before that, the four people will be put through the toughest training. It should be noted that Reid Wiseman is a Navy pilot and will be the mission commander, while Victor has also flown ships. Christina is an electrical engineer and Jeremy Hanson has flown fighter jets in the Canadian Air Force.
All these people will be part of the Artemis-2 mission for which thousands of people are working day and night and have been declared as ambassadors of humanity. The mission’s most powerful vehicle is the SLS rocket that will carry the astronauts aboard the Orion capsule to the Moon.
Earlier, the Artemis I mission completed its 25-day mission to test facilities, software and hardware for the project. However, after the success of Artemis II, the Artemis III mission will land humans on the moon.
