Karachi: 2 unknown people escaped from the restaurant with food worth 27 thousand by making the taxi driver a dowry.
In the incident that took place at a restaurant near the Gora graveyard on Monday night, the two men ate a meal worth Rs. Meanwhile, the two persons also ordered to parcel food worth 22 thousand rupees.
The accused made the driver sit in the restaurant saying that he would bring the money from downstairs and disappeared. The accused also took the mobile phone of the driver with them. Later, when the two did not return, the driver and the restaurant manager became concerned. When the driver was questioned, he said that he had gone to collect the money. After waiting for another hour, the two men did not return, so the restaurant management called the police.
According to the Police President, the driver Shafiqullah was found innocent during the investigation. He said that the accused had taken him on a ride from Korangi Chiniot Hospital and lured him that after eating, he would go back to Chiniot Hospital Korangi, but the two men escaped with him by defrauding the restaurant owners of thousands of rupees.
