Important instructions regarding working hours of employees in Saudi Arabia issued

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Manpower has warned that employees cannot be asked to work for more than 5 hours continuously and the total duration of duty in a week should not exceed 48 hours.

According to Arab media, the Saudi Ministry of Manpower explained that it is not appropriate to work continuously for 5 hours without a break. There should be an hour break during the five hours.

In its statement, the Ministry of Manpower added that the total duration of duty in a week should not exceed 48 hours and 2 hours relaxation should be given to those who are fasting in the month of Ramadan.

Regarding overtime, the Saudi Ministry of Manpower said that it should not be more than 2 hours per day, that is, overtime should not exceed a total of 144 hours in a week.

The Saudi Ministry of Manpower issued this statement after employees complained about working hours.
