Karachi: The federal government allowed private real estate companies to bring in foreign investment.
The federal government has allowed real estate investment trust (REIT) companies to bring private foreign investment in their real estate, agriculture, mobile tower and renewable energy projects, allowing the projects to be listed on the stock market. Before being offered for trading, every real estate investment trust company is required to be listed on the stock market within three years from the date of registration.
The State Bank has amended the foreign exchange manual for trust companies to invite foreign investors, allowing foreign investors to invest within three years of the trust company’s registration and trading in the stock market. will
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Mohammad Ijaz, CEO of Arif Habib Dolman Reit Management Limited, said that everyone is considering approaching foreigners for investment, but irregularities are a hindrance to all of them.
He said that we cannot invite foreign investment immediately amid the current partial shutdown of the economy, foreign investors are waiting for the revival of the IMF program to encourage investment in Pakistan.
