Sikhs staged a protest at the Indian High Commission in London against police brutality in Indian Punjab. The demonstration was organized by the Federation of Sikh Organizations and Sikh Youth Organizations.
On this occasion, Sikh youth showered shoes on the photo of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Apart from London, protesters also came from other cities of Britain. On this occasion, the area around the Indian High Commission echoed with slogans of Khalistan.
It should be remembered that there was heavy police presence after the Indian flag was taken down from the High Commission building last week.
Speaking on this occasion, the Sikh leaders said that we are demanding the fundamental right of freedom from India. India cannot suppress the Khalistan movement by force.
The Sikh leader said that through the referendum, they want to tell the world that they want independence from India.
Meanwhile, on this occasion, the diplomatic staff threw a bottle of water on the protesters from the roof of the Indian High Commission. More police force was called to control the angry protesters.
Hundreds of police officers were on duty to protect the High Commission and police lined up in front of the main gate of the Indian High Commission. The police feared that the angry youth would not take down the Indian flag again.
