London: Sikhs took down the Indian flag at the Indian High Commission in London and hoisted the flag of Khalistan.
In a viral video on social media, Sikh youths can be seen taking down the Indian flag and putting up the Khalistan flag. Meanwhile, youths carrying the flag of Khalistan in their hands were shouting slogans against India and in favor of Khalistan. The attempt of the Indian diplomatic official to stop them from taking down the flag of India and hoisting the flag of Khalistan failed.
According to the Sikh community based in London, the purpose of hoisting the Khalistan flag by taking down the Indian flag at the Indian High Commission is to protest against the arrest of Amrit Pal Singh, a supporter of the Khalistan movement in Indian Punjab and his 6 colleagues, and the referendum on Khalistan in Australia. It was an expression of solidarity. Australia is voting on Khalistan today.
