The Election Commission dismissed the returning officer of Union Council 7 Sultanabad Kemari
Islamabad: The Election Commission has reserved the decision of the Karachi Municipal Elections case.
The Karachi Local Government Elections case was heard in the Election Commission. The lawyers of Jamaat-e-Islami said that our victory was changed to defeat, we do not accept the results of the recount.
Member Election Commission Balochistan said that they will not spare anyone involved in irregularities, they will take a decision after reviewing.
The Election Commission dismissed the returning officer of Union Council 7 Sultanabad Kemari.
An inquiry committee headed by the Provincial Election Commissioner was formed to inquire against the RO and was ordered to submit an immediate report.
The committee will examine the role of the RO and gather evidence on electoral fraud. Recommendations regarding disciplinary and criminal action against the returning officer will be formulated.
The Election Commission has appointed the new RO to the Regional Election Commissioner who will record the statements of all the candidates and provide the results within 7 days.
The Election Commission reserved the decision of the case.
After the hearing, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while talking to the media said that by-elections were not held in 11 USZs, which is a question mark for the Election Commission. That the People’s Party is influencing the Election Commission.
Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said that People’s Party started making fake Form 11, Election Commission conducted a forensic audit of it, even after two months justice could not be found in Election Commission, vote bags are open and double stamps are attached, only Jamaat Islami’s vote was tampered with.
He further said that the election of 11 USCs should be done immediately, the reputation of the Election Commission is being destroyed, this is a test case for the Election Commission, it should take a decision without coming under pressure, otherwise we will protest on ten major highways of Karachi.
