Lahore’s Jamia Naimiya has declared the Tosha Khana law illegal on behalf of the government officials.
In the fatwa issued by Jamia Naimiyyah, it has been said that taking Tosha Khana goods at a low price is a betrayal of trust from the Shariah point of view.
It was said in the fatwa that according to the holy hadiths, the gifts received by the government officials will be collected in the state treasury.
Muftis of Jamia Naimiya have appealed to the Chief Justice to play a role in changing the existing law.
Those who issued the fatwa include Dr. Raghib Naimi, Mufti Imran Hanafi, Mufti Nadeem Qamar and Mufti Arif Hussain.
It should be noted that yesterday the federal government made the record of about 21 years of Tosha Khana public. The records of Tosha Khana from 2002 to 2023 have been uploaded on the Cabinet Division website.
A record of 466 pages related to Tosha Khana was uploaded on the website.
