Abu Dhabi: Ramadan in the UAE is likely to begin on March 23, while Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on Friday, April 21.

According to the Arab media, the meeting to see the moon of Ramadan will be held on March 21 in the United Arab Emirates like in Saudi Arabia, and citizens have been requested to submit testimonies in case of sighting of the moon.

However, the UAE Astronomical Society has predicted that the first fast in the emirate will be on Thursday, March 23, while Eid al-Fitr will be on Friday, April 21.

The Astronomical Society of the United Arab Emirates further said that fasting in the Kingdom will be from 13 and a half hours to 14 hours and 13 minutes.

Like every year in the kingdom, this year too, the fasting people have been given 2 hours concession in their working hours, while a big reduction in the prices of 10,000 food items has also been announced in celebration of the arrival of Ramadan.
