SANTA CATARINA:(PNP) The Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) is strengthening its commitment to internationalization and social inclusion through its Without Borders project, an initiative aimed at welcoming, integrating and supporting international, refugee and migrant students throughout their academic journey.
According to project team member Déborah Bertelhe, the initiative provides a comprehensive support system that includes orientation programs for newly admitted students, academic guidance, continuous monitoring of students’ progress, and a wide range of cultural and artistic activities designed to foster inclusion and community engagement.
“The project’s goal is to create an inclusive and supportive academic environment where international, refugee and migrant students can successfully adapt to university life and achieve their educational goals,” Bertole said.
Beyond student support, the project also serves the broader community by disseminating information about admission opportunities to UFSC’s undergraduate programs. It promotes awareness of human rights and contributes to strengthening the university’s international partnerships and global reputation.
Through these initiatives, UFSC continues to reinforce its role as a welcoming institution committed to diversity, equal opportunities and academic excellence for students from around the world.
