Karachi: The alleged dacoit, who fled after looting in Defense area of Derakhshan, was shot dead by a citizen while an accomplice escaped from the spot.
A person was killed in a firing near Master Jos in Defense Area Phase 6, Bada Bukhari.
SHO Shoaib-ur-Rahman said that the person killed in the firing was a robber who was fleeing after looting along with his partner at the said place when the citizen fired at him while the robbers also fired back at him. However, one of the robbers was killed on the spot while his accomplice escaped.
He said that the police have also recorded the initial statement of the citizen and other eyewitnesses, while 30 bore pistols, 4 mobile phones and a wallet containing 14 thousand rupees in cash have been recovered from the possession of the dead robber. Could not be identified.
The age of the slain dacoit is said to be around 24 years, but the police are making efforts to identify him with the help of biometric system.
