The 64-year-old Governor of Balochistan, Abdul Wali Kakar, who took the oath of office today, is a Masters in Sociology from University of Balochistan.
Following the footsteps of his father Abdul Ali Kakar, he started his political journey from the platform of NEP, he is one of the founding members of BNP.
Abdul Wali Kakar was born in 1958 in Kuchlak, a suburb of Quetta. He matriculated from Government High School Kuchlak, FSC and BSc from Government Science College Quetta and MA in Social Sciences from Jamia Balochistan.
His father Abdul Ali Kakar met Bacha Khan in 1936 and started his political struggle on the platform of NEP.
Abdul Wali Kakar is one of the founding members of Balochistan National Party, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Balochistan National Party before being nominated as Governor.
Governor Abdul Wali Kakar says that Malik Abdul Ali Kakar was my father as well as my teacher.
He said that I consider Bacha Khan as my political teacher and today I am following in the footsteps of late Sardar Attaullah Khan Mengal and Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal.
