Electricity has been made more expensive for the customers of the company that provides electricity to Karachi, the largest city in the country.
It has been decided to increase the electricity rates of K Electric in 2 ways.
It has also been decided to apply a uniform tariff for K Electric customers.
According to the document, the implementation of the uniform tariff will cost K-Electric customers an average of Rs 3.21 paise per unit.
For customers with 100 units of K Electric, electricity will cost Rs 1.4 paise, while for customers with 700 units, the cost will be Rs. 3.2 paise per unit.
Electricity will cost Rs 4.45 per unit for temporary residential customers and industrial customers of K Electric.
It has been decided to increase electricity rates by Rs 1.55 paise for K Electric customers on a quarterly basis as well.
It has also been decided to increase the quarterly rates of K Electric customers from July 2022 to September 2022 and from March 2023 to May 2023.
The quarterly tariff for K Electric customers with 100 units and industrial customers will also increase by Rs 1.55 paise.
