Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saifur Rehman has announced the start of Karachi Games 2023 from March 3, in which more than 5,000 players and athletes will participate in 42 different indoor and outdoor games.
Dr. Syed Saifur Rehman inaugurated the Karachi Games 2023 Secretariat at KMC Sports Complex on Wednesday. Heads of departments and other officers of Baldia Uzma Karachi were also present on this occasion.
Later, while holding a press conference, Administrator Karachi said that Karachi Games will be inaugurated by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesuri, KMC will not spend any money on organizing Karachi Games.
He said that sports fields in Karachi will be restored and populated, Karachi Games 2023 is going to be a big event in which a large number of women are also participating.
He appealed that the fans come to Karachi Games in maximum number to encourage the budding talented players.
Administrator Karachi said that to carry out the administrative and technical affairs of the Karachi Games, the Karachi Games Secretariat has been established in the KMC Sports Complex, where the technical staff, ground committee, including officials and members of various sports associations will be present, while print and A media corner has also been provided for coverage of various sports and timely reporting by electronic media journalists.
He said that various sports associations and other concerned persons will be in touch with this secretariat and all matters of Karachi Games will be done here.
He said that various sponsors have been hired to organize these games.
He said that this wonderful and unique sports festival in Karachi will continue for about 10 days.
He said that the sports included in Karachi Games 2023 include cricket, hockey, football, basketball, shooting ball, volleyball, softball, netball, dodgeball, karate, taekwondo, judo, wushu, badminton. , table tennis, snooker, boxing, squash, chess, kabaddi, sailing, carrom, body building, swimming, roller skating, sepak takara, futsal, tug-of-war, gymnastics, wrestling, shooting, scrabble, tennis, cycle race, dunky kart Race, arm wrestling, mass wrestling, weight lifting, marathon race, field and track besides the traditional cultural sports of Sindh include Malakhra Kabaddi and Khokhu.
He said that after the opening ceremony of the Karachi Games, the players will use the facilities provided at KMC Sports Complex, Kashmir Road and Women Sports Complex Gulshan Iqbal for most of the sports, while for other outdoor competitions cricket matches will be held at Nazimabad Gym. Khana, Eastern Star Ground, TMC Ground, Gulberg Gymkhana, Shadab Ground Orangi, Landhi Gymkhana, KPT Ground and hockey matches will be held at HA Hockey Stadium and Islahuddin Hockey Stadium.
Administrator Karachi said that the football tournament will be held at MC Football Stadium, Trans Lyari Football Ground, Skiston Star Football Ground, Ibrahim Hydari Football Ground, while the basketball competition will be held at Aram Bagh Court and the table tennis competition will be held at Sindh Sports Board Complex, Nazimabad. Boxing competitions will be held at the People’s Sports Complex while snooker, boating, cycle races, dunky cart races will be held at designated venues.
