Lahore: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeemur Rahman was met by the opposition delegation led by Mehmood Achakzai and Asad Qaiser and invited him to join the protest movement against the government.
The delegation led by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, president of Etihad for Protection of Constitution and PTI leader and former speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser reached Mansurah. Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman welcomed the delegation.
A meeting was held between opposition leaders and leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami. Mehmood Khan Achakzai gave a formal invitation to Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeemur Rahman to join the protest movement.
Mehmood Khan Achakzai said that we are running a movement for the supremacy of the constitution in the country, our aim is not only to change faces.
After the meeting, Mehmood Khan Achakzai while talking to the media said that the kind of elections that have brought the country into disrepute have come for the supremacy of the Constitution. Violation of this is not acceptable.
Asad Qaiser said that this movement is for the constitution and law in the country and not for power. Gee, the country has the law of the jungle. A free country cannot be run like this. Human rights are being violated and illegal cases are being made.
Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said that unfortunately the constitution has been violated time and again, we have to agree on the supremacy of the constitution, there is no other option without it, the army chief, judiciary and all institutions will have to follow the constitution. A dialogue will begin, starting with form 45, the government coming from form 47 is not acceptable.
