5.3 magnitude earthquake in different areas of Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Islamabad: Earthquake tremors were felt in various areas of the federal capital Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Seismological Centre, apart from Islamabad, earthquake tremors were felt in Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Kohat, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi and Mianwali.

The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.3 on the Richter scale, while the depth of the epicenter was 130 km underground.

According to the Seismological Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan.
