Lahore: An application was filed in the Lahore High Court to remove Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani from office.
The petition was filed by local citizen Mashkoor Hussain through Nadeem Sarwar Advocate in which Sadiq Sanjrani and Election Commission among others were made parties.
In the application, the position was taken that Sadiq Sanjrani contested the election on the seat of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan and after his success, the Election Commission also issued a notification.
According to the petitioner, Sadiq Sanjrani cannot hold two seats at the same time and is illegally acting as Senate Chairman.
In the petition, it was requested that the Election Commission should order Sadiq Sanjrani’s seat as a senator to be declared vacant and the Lahore High Court should also stop Sadiq Sanjrani from acting as Senate Chairman.
