First snowfall of winter in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has received its first snowfall of winter due to which other upper areas including Kalam, Chitral, Malam Jabba, Naran, Kaghan and Guliyat were covered in white blanket.

According to the Meteorological Department, the rain and snowfall is likely to continue intermittently for the next three days.

According to the spokesperson of the Tourism Authority, Muhammad Saad, the arrival of tourists has started at the tourist places to enjoy the snowfall, youths of the Tourism Police have been appointed to provide the best facilities to the tourists.

Tourists should take precautionary measures before visiting the snow-covered places. Tourists can contact Tourism Helpline 1422 which is active 24 hours to be aware of the current situation at tourist places.

According to the spokesman, tourists going to snowy places should use chains in vehicles, be careful while driving in mountainous areas during the trip.
